My days are usually lazy, so my first meal of the day is a very late brunch anyway, sometimes it's almost between lunch and dinner time. Although my dear chef at home makes the best breakfast, I'm still happy to have a lot more choices at some restaurants, just for something different.
There are several places which are not bad at all, let's start from the Toscana, the classic.
This area is like a green house,
suitable for a sunny sunday morning.
Pink carnation on the table this week.
Last time there was a dark purple lily,
with a bit of bright yellow in the center,
which brought me back to the street side flower store at Paris.
Back then,
when I was invited to a friend's place,
apart from fruit tarts,
assorted cakes,
chocolates,
flowers are the must.
Love to choose a nice bouquet,
suitable for the hostess that day.
Enjoy very much watching the picked flowers get packed nicely.
In France,
they just simply wrap them in a piece of transparent clear material,
so the bouquet looks like it's resting in a crystal square box,
nothing more to interfere with the original color of the flowers.
In Taiwan,
there's always lots of decoration around the bouquet,
sometimes it's too much.
Salsa and chopped anchovy + black olives,
to go with breads.
Bread's pretty good with olive oil.
Dessert bar is great here.
Seasonal ingrediants,
lots of variety.
Not a big selection of cheese,
but could find enough to satisfy your palate.
Salad bar normal.
Mushroom soup this week.
Fromage avec:
du pain,
du vin,
et du soleil...
What the........> <.
Poached egg with mushroom and spinach.
My favorite steamed egg with black truffle and ham, potato.
Wish I can finish three plates of desserts but could only take one.
The entrance.
The gold bull holding my purse.
Still a great choice for a sunny day,
when it's too cold or too hot to sit outside.
