Lawry's The Prime Rib

Got a bit more brave to try steak houses after the nice experience at Prime 168, since I'm around Xin Yi area (信義區) a lot, and there's one newly opened in the Song Ren(松仁)105 building, decided to give it a try.

Although it's located in B1, there's a very nice outdoor area, indoor part has very high ceiling. They could have make the whole place splendid, but unfortunately, the colors they used were all wrongly matched and the way tables were arranged were quilte wierd, too.

Dining experience? A lot of performing but the food wasn't good. And honestly, I've nener tasted any steak which was worse than this. The wines in the list were all the cheapest you can find to buy(although sometime it's great to do this if you can find good value wines and sell them at reasonable prices, then it's good for both the restaurant and the clients, but this was certainly not the case) and they weren't that good. Overall, the diner wasn't worth the price at all.

NT$1990 Set menu

You get basicly just a salad, a steak with some side dishes, a lobster tail and a dessert, coffee or tea.

You can taste all 3 wines for the price but they were all quite boring wines.

Bogle wines in any supermarket in the States you can get  from US$4 to US$10, depending on the

different catagories, like grape types, growing areas etc, pretty good value there but not in Taiwan.

There are a lot more better choices than this.

Breads were not that good, either.

But since the main course was much worse, later I figured out that I did need them.

Pitcher was a good idea though.

You can always pour as much as you want and savor the wine properly.

They made a big fuss preparing but the salad turned out really boring.

The guy had to drag this heavy beef cart around and cut the steak right next to the table.

Again, quite a performance but the steak sucks.

The cart.

The beef was swimming in the deluded Port sauce and the side dishes tasted like heated can food.

Preparing the baked potatoe.

Sour cream, bacon, leeks and butter for the baked potato

Baked potato

This was the best part of the dinner.

Lobster tail was OK.

Another fun part.

Rice pudding wasn't too bad.

Coffee was fine.

Views inside.

Too bad, the location of the restaurant is really convenient for us,

the service was not bad, and the music was quite nice. But since the steak was far from acceptable, and

although the Prime 168 is a bit far,  compared to this, it's way worth it to make the trip!
